Looking for a Doctor or practitioner to help with your Health?

With many problems in our life that are out of our own scope or we cannot solve we often have to find someone with expertise to help. Whether looking for an accountant to do our taxes, a mechanic to fix our car, sometimes no amount of googling or youtubing will find the solution.

When it comes to our health there is a wealth of information about symptoms, conditions, diseases, exercises, nutrition etc. the list is seamlessly endless. However, where there is a vast amount of information there is very little wisdom.

Chiropractic is one of the professions which help people find that wisdom specific to their health problems.

Very little people actually truly know what chiropractors do?  With the most common answer probably being someone who cracks their spine. So here I will try to simply break it down for people to better understand for themselves and how to explain it to others.

What is a Chiropractor?

A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine.
Most chiropractors seek to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients as well as to educate them on how they can account for their own health via exercise, ergonomics and other therapies to treat back pain.

Why the Spine?

The questions is why or how does the spine play an important role in our health.
It’s not necessarily the spine that’s important but what it contains, which is the nervous system. Your Central nervous controls and coordinates all functions in the body. Not only does your spine protect your nervous system it is also designed to move.

If there was a change in structure or function of your spine the knock-on affect would impact your nervous system and its ability to function normally. Any alteration of spinal structure or function may cause irritation of the central nervous system or the outer spinal nerves that are protected as they travel to organs or muscles. Repeated physical stresses or instantly in a physical accident, but often it is brought on by too much psychological stress or lifestyle factors like inadequate nutrition or exercise.

Hey , If you’ve spent any time around me. Or read any of my emails. You’ll have heard me say 3 magic words… In fact, I don’t know for sure if I talk in my sleep. But if I do, I’ve got no doubt I’d be saying: “Lotion is motion.” If I was a spine-adjusting superhero, it would definitely be my catchphrase. But what does it actually mean? It's no secret that our bodies are designed to move. Yet, in a world increasingly inclined towards sedentary lifestyles, we often forget the power of motion.  But here are 5 reasons why integrating movement into your daily routine is critical to your health: #1. Boosts Mental Health Regular physical activity is a natural mood enhancer, helping to relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. It's like nature's antidepressant - without the side effects . #2. Enhances Joint Health Movement helps maintain joint flexibility and can reduce pain and stiffness. If you’re focusing on improving your spinal health, regular motion will ensure that your bac...
5 reasons to put your phone down in February Do you ever think about how different life was before mobile phones? Having to call someone's house phone to get hold of them. Or agreeing a place and time to meet someone, and hoping they turned up! Nowadays, where our phones are often 'glued' to our person at all times, it's easy to forget the value of truly unplugging. That's why today, I'm inviting you to explore the concept of a digital detox. It's more than just a break from screens - it's a journey towards improved mental and physical health. Here are my top 5 reasons digital detox can be incredibly beneficial: 1.  Reduced Stress:  It's no secret that constant notifications and social media can increase stress and anxiety. Stepping away from screens gives your mind a much-needed break, leading to a more relaxed and calm state. 2.  Improved Sleep:  Screens emit blue light that can disrupt your sleep cycle. By reducing screen time, especially before...
